Pride Month June 2026

In today’s global climate, acceptance of LGBTQIA+ people is increasingly under pressure — including here in the Netherlands. This makes it all the more important to actively demonstrate our commitment to inclusion, solidarity and meaningful connection.

Our Approach

To support LGBTQIA+ students and staff, we have organised a wide range of events and initiatives throughout the month. These have been developed in close collaboration with students from the LGBTQIA+ community, with the shared aim of creating a campus where everyone feels seen, respected and supported.

Join Us

We warmly invite all students and staff to take part in the programme, learn from one another, and help build a campus where everyone truly belongs.

Activity programme

🌈  Kick-Off Pride  · 1 June · 10:00-16:00h · Forum stage

Let’s come together on campus to celebrate Pride and show allyship. Stop by, work on a collaborative artwork, connect with others, and pick up a Pride bracelet to wear and share your support. Everyone is welcome!

🌈  Movie Night - Carol · 4 June · 21:00h · Heerenstraat Theater

For WUR students and staff, WUR is offering a special opportunity to experience a landmark film in LGBTQIA+ cinema at Heerenstraat Theatre at a greatly reduced rate. Carol (2015) is a historical romantic drama that beautifully portrays the bittersweet romance between a young aspiring artist and an older woman navigating a difficult divorce. Bring your friends and take advantage of this unique chance to see a powerful and influential film in a beautiful cinema setting.

🌈  Active Bystander Training · 11 June · 12:30–14:00h · Forum V0031

Pride is more than a celebration; it’s also a time to reflect on how we can create safe spaces for selfexpression. This active bystander training helps you build the skills to act when you witness bullying, discrimination, and harassment. Click to register.
