null

Are you pregnant or combining your studies with caring for your child? Wageningen University & Research can help you strike a healthy balance between studying and parenthood by offering guidance and facilities.

Guidance & Support

Study adviser

Are you pregnant? Make an appointment with your study adviser as soon as possible. You will discuss possible adjustments to your study planning or course selection, so that you can combine your studies and parenthood in the best possible way.

Student dean

The student dean is your main point of contact regarding regulations and financial support. The dean can, for example:

  • Advise you in cases of study delay due to pregnancy or childbirth

  • Assist with applications for financial support, such as the FOS regulation (Financial Student Support) or private funds

  • Discuss options regarding housing and childcare

  • Offer a listening ear and refer you to other support services or organisations

Regulations & Allowances

Financial Support for Students (FOS)

Have you experienced a study delay due to pregnancy or childbirth? You may be eligible for financial support through the FOS scheme. Discuss your options with the student dean.

Government allowances and regulations

In addition to university arrangements, you may also make use of national facilities such as:

  • Childcare allowance via the Dutch Tax Authority

  • Additional grant or single-parent allowance via DUO

  • Municipal regulations for students with children

The student dean can help determine what you are entitled to and assist you with the application process.

Childcare

WUR does not have its own childcare facility. However, the childcare centre Prins Vleermuis is located on campus.
Please note: It is important to arrange childcare as early as possible!

Facilities – Lactation Rooms

Many buildings on campus offer a lactation room. You can request the key at the reception desk.
